Test/Review Fischer RC4 Worldcup RC Pro

Mini Fischer Logo - SkiReviewer

The Fischer RC4 Worldcup RC Pro is the race carver offering from Fischer with a giant slalom touch and feel. Anyone aiming to this kind of ski should definitely take a look at this model. A softened GS model compared to the authentic FIS GS models but with the same taste and from the same source.

The size offering starts at 170 cm and finishes at 185 cm. You’ll find a new size every 5 cm. The turn radius at 175 cm is 18 m. Not very long, not too short. The middle way. If you choose a longer size you´ll be closer to the real thing, though. So if you are an experienced skier with a very good technique and ski on wide, public-free slopes (away from the crowd), go for the longest sizes. Be aware and do not overstimate your skills. Look for professional advice if any doubt.

Test / Review Ski Fischer RC4 Worldcup SC

The Fischer RC4 Worldcup SC is one of the best known skis around the globe from Fischer. And it is one of the oldest designs in Fischer as well as in the whole industry. And there is a very good reason for that. If it works and it works well, why change it?

As for this season´s model if features the following technologies: Sandwich Sidewall Construction, Beech Poplar Wood Core, Air Carbon TI 0.8, Hole Ski Technology (if a hole can be considered something beyond its own empty nature), Racetrack, World Cup Tuning and Sintered Bases. So… despite enumerating how many ideas and materials are behind the ski’s construction, there are not may “techs” in there. That said, all marketing departments deserve some love and this is no exception. At least this particular one is based on reality and facts, something we all should appreciate as users.

Test / Review Ski Fischer RC4 Worldcup RC

The Fischer RC4 Worldcup RC is a softened version of the RC4 Worlcup RC Pro. It is a Giant Slalom oriented ski with a good performance but with a lower technical profile. The sidecut is identical to the Pro model, and if we take a deeper look it is not that different from the Pro.

I could easily copy-paste what it’s been written about the Pro model and put it here with a new title. Would that be fair? Well, that is a very good question. One that I could not answer alone since Fischer has more to say about it that I do.

Test / Review Ski Fischer RC4 Superior Pro

Mini Fischer Logo - SkiReviewer

The Fischer RC4 Superior Pro is a Race class ski on its own right. It does not follow any prestablished premise and its sidecut and profile are unique in the Fischer Race range. It is hard to figure out who is this ski aimed to, since in the rest of the range there is a good repertoire covering everyone’s needs.

The sidecut in the Fischer RC4 Superior Pro starts with a generous 122 mm shovel, followed by a 72 mm waist and closes with a 104 mm tail. With only 15 m radius in 170 cm, it is clear enough that this ski is aimed for those willing to make some nice carved turns. Despite that first impression, when compared to the rest of the race range at Fischer it seems this has been a design intended to be “the middle path” between the GS and SL-like models. The brand has chosen a wide profile, giving the Fischer RC4 Superior Pro a more open use case scope without losing the race character.

Test / Review Ski Fischer RC4 Superior RC

The Fischer RC4 Superior RC is a Race carver for everyone. The brand has made the wide open turns accessible for everyone thanks to this model. From those willing to keep on improving their skiing technique through Race skis (and are just starting to use them) to those with countless hours under their feet and a more than two decade-old wedeln technique, the Fischer RC4 Superior RC is a very good option.

The profile is a bit “narrow” with 114 mm in the tail but with a decent waist of 69 mm. The tail is just under the hundred milimeter figure, counting just 98 mm. A ski with this profile is maneuverable for sure. At 170 cm, the radius figure stands at 17 m. The size offering for the Fischer RC4 Superior RC goes from 160 cm to 180 cm covering all skiers willing to taste the Fischer Race experience.

Test / Review Ski Fischer RC4 Superior SC

The Fischer RC4 Superior SC is the second line Slalom ski in the Racing range at Fischer. It is obviously inspired by its brother the RC4 Worldcup SC yet with a different profile in many senses. Willing to offer a similar experience as in the Worldcup model while being at the same time more accessible and forgivable, Fischer has brought the Fischer RC4 Superior SC as a proper answer.

The profile is slightly narrower compared to the Worlcup model. A shovel of 120 mm gives path to a 67 mm wide waist, followed by a 100 mm tail. As a result, at 165 cm in length the Fischer RC4 Superior SC gives us a 14 m radius. The size offering starts at just 150 cm, which is quite short and ends at 170 cm.
